Roman oppression led to numerous Jewish uprisings, involving great bloodshed. Why did Jesus scare his disciples by walking on the water?

He allowed no one to follow him except Peter, James, and John, the brother of James. How does Peter answer? They received special insight into parables and were seen as leaders among the early Christian movement.

But most importantly, following him as Lord and as the perfect example of how to live life and serve others is how each and every follower should relate to him.
