This course introduces the concepts, theories and information for development in ARTS and ARTSthe studio components linked with this visual arts foundation course.

The topics will include quick sketching, thumbnails, basic composition, and perspective. The university equestrian team will be developed from this course. Awards alumni have gone on to become celebrated scientists, authors, painters, poets and even fashion designers.
The student is introduced to computer application of two-dimensional concepts and output. Technical classroom instruction, laboratory exercises, and field trip experiences will involve selection and utilization of new and emerging technologies and equipment, workplace planning, supervision, and management.
This course will strengthen and complement current course offerings in the Department of Art, in particular, by providing more course offerings for non-majors. Management of budgets, personnel, equipment maintenance and irrigation scheduling are also covered.
Lectures and demonstrations will be given on tools, materials and safety procedures. The techniques and processes of print media are explored. This course provides an overview of the various sectors and institutions servicing agriculture.
Laboratory exercises involve various management practices and selection of livestock based on visual evaluation and genetic performance.
Focus is on the marketing efforts and added value that each sector provides to farm products. Students will be expected to strengthen communication skills between horse and rider through various exercises.
